The Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME), an Allied Branch of the Institute, offers basic engineering subjects such as Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, Basic Thermodynamics, Basic Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Strength of Materials, etc., for diploma and undergraduate programmes. It is equipped with a Mechanical Workshop, Engineering Mechanics Laboratory, and Basic Fluid and Thermal Engineering Laboratory to provide practical and hands-on learning. At present, the Department offers only a PhD programme in Mechanical Engineering and does not offer Diploma or B.Tech. programmes.
